E: Alice Springs, middle of the desert, 40C
We were a bit afraid when we arrived in Alice Springs... It was raining! It even happens here.
So we went for a 3 day excursion in Kings Canyon, Olga Mountains and Ayers Rock (or Uluru).
Our group was composed by 1 Israelite, 1 Italian, 1 Australian, a couple of English, a couple of polish, 4 Danes and 8 Germans ... We had a really good time in the desert and back to Alice Springs we had an extremely enjoyable night out!
It wasn't that easy... It was so hot (more than 50C in the sun, some people were dehydrated and quite sick, and the millions of flies were a real pain in the neck (butter spreading, eating were nearly impossible).
But it was worth it, the opposition of colours between the red stones, the green of the vegetation and the intense blue of the sky, the rocks shape, the wilderness and all the aboriginal culture linked to these places.
3 days in the desert, that was enough and we were longing to go back to Alice Springs for the pool and not having any flies!
We are now at Yvan and Alice (and miss Mathilde) 's place in Brisbane where it is very humid (85%)... It is raining so today it is Australia open... on TV!
